About Mindy

Mindy is the founder of Take It To The Mat Community Yoga, an organization dedicated to making yoga and wellness accessible to everyone. She believes yoga is a community resource—not a luxury—and has devoted her work to removing barriers to healing through trauma-informed, inclusive, and compassionate programming.

Teaching yoga since 2016, Mindy is a 500-hour Certified Yoga Teacher with specialized training in trauma-informed yoga, adaptive yoga, yoga for women's health, prenatal yoga, and wellness coaching. Her classes are designed to meet people where they are, creating safe, welcoming spaces where every body and every story is honored.

Mindy's work extends beyond the yoga mat. She develops programs that blend ancient yoga philosophy with modern neuroscience, somatic practices, and community wellness. Her signature offerings—including Into the Light and The Integrated Self—help participants reconnect with themselves through movement, breath, mindfulness, education, and meaningful connection.

As a leader, Mindy is passionate about building partnerships that bring affordable wellness services to seniors, survivors of trauma, individuals in recovery, families, and underserved communities throughout East Tennessee. She believes that healing happens in community and that even small moments of connection can create lasting change.

Whether teaching a gentle chair yoga class, leading a wellness workshop, mentoring future instructors, or building community collaborations, Mindy's mission remains the same: to help people move, breathe, heal, and thrive—one person, one class, and one community at a time.
